To the editor:

People are hurting. They are filled with pain that is almost indescribable. Nevertheless, the pain goes unnoticed by others day after day. Pain is an inner feeling, sometimes noticed by a physical expression. Still, pain is as invisible as the air one is breathing.

Pain makes its visitation in two forms: physical and emotional, which are both equal in the effect they have in affecting one's life. Pain cries out seeking to be noticed. However, it is the most misunderstood plea on planet Earth. Almost always, it is cloaked and misconstrued to be something other than pain. This seems to magnify and increase the amount of pain one has.

Pain cannot be seen, but it can be perceived, if one is sensitive to the needs of others. I am very sensitive to pain, both my own and the pain in others. I have found others always relieved and exhilarated to share their pain with me. However, when I try to share my pain with them, I more often than not receive immediate rejection. When this happens, I know whom to call upon who will listen and never reject me. Not only does he welcome my coming to him, he takes away my pain.

How could they have rejected him, and how can one reject him now? If you are hurting, the great physician who specializes in pain is waiting for your call. His name is a name above all names, Jesus Christ.
