ALTENBURG -- Tyson A. Wunderlich of Altenburg has been awarded a President's Scholarship and Missouri Leadership Award to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 1999-2000 academic year.
The scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who rank at least in the upper 20 percent of their high school class and score 24 on the ACT or 1,110 on the SAT.
The scholarships also are awarded to students who are their class valedictorian and score 21 on the ACT or 990 on the SAT, and to National Merit scholars. The scholarship is worth $1,500 an academic year.
The Missouri Leadership Award is a one-year award of $500 designed for Missouri students who demonstrate leadership, scholarship and involvement. Students receiving the scholarship must have achieved a 3.0 grade-point average.
Wunderlich is a 1999 graduate of Perryville High School. He is the son of Duane and Carol Wunderlich of Altenburg. He plans to major in music at Southeast.
