CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The spring semester at Southeast Missouri State University will begin Jan. 14 at 8 a.m.

Registered students may pick up rental textbooks at the Textbook Services office in Kent Library beginning today.

Prospective new students, who have not been admitted to the university, must apply at the admissions office, located in Room 259 in Academic Hall, before they can enroll in any classes, said Dr. Fred Snider, dean of admissions and records.

A copy of the spring semester schedule of classes, which includes information about enrollment, advising and fees, is available from the registrar's office.

Information about scholarships, student loans, grants and other forms of financial aid is available from financial aid services.

Orientation and advising sessions are required for students who have completed fewer than 30 semester hours of credit.

These sessions are scheduled for next Friday and Saturday, and appointments may be made at the Admissions Office in Academic Hall or by calling (314) 651-2255.

Spring recess is scheduled from Friday, March 8, at the close of classes until 8 a.m. Monday, march 18.

An Easter recess is scheduled from the close of classes Thursday, March 28, until 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 2.

Final examinations will be held May 13-18, and commencement is scheduled for Saturday, May 11.
