An open house will be held this afternoon on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
Sponsored by the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce's University Relations Committee, the open house is designed to acquaint area residents with the university's facilities and programs.
The event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The open house will showcase collections of Mississippi Indian artifacts, American military history memorabilia and faculty art in the University Museum, Faulkner and Missouriana collections in Kent Library, the industrial technology laboratory in the Serena building, the corporate television and new radio laboratories in the Grauel building, residence hall rooms in Dearmont, and the nursing department in Crisp Hall, as well as other offices and programs.
Southeast President Kala Stroup will greet visitors at her office in Academic Hall. The Golden Eagles Marching Band, the Jazz Band and Southeast's Sundancers will perform throughout the day.
Visitors are advised to park in the Show Me Center parking lot and take a shuttle bus to the hub of the campus, organizers said.
