A proposed revision in the summer-session fee structure will be an item of business when the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents meets Thursday.
The board will convene at 10 a.m. in the University Center party room.
Under the fee proposal, 1992 summer-session incidental fees would be set at $74 per credit hour for Missouri undergraduates, regardless of the number of hours taken.
This year, summer fees were $69 per credit hour for Missouri undergraduates taking from one to eight credit hours of classes, university officials said. Summer charges reached a plateau of $602 for nine to 12 credit hours. Students paid $35 for each additional credit hour above 12 hours.
The proposed change would eliminate the plateau, officials said, and would bring summer-session charges in line with spring semester fees.
For non-resident undergraduates, the fee would be $134 per hour.
Graduate students who are Missouri residents would pay $80 per credit hour. Non-resident graduate students would pay $145 per credit hour, officials said.
In addition to the incidental fee, summer-session students pay a $15 recreation center fee if they are taking four or more credit hours. That charge would remain the same under the fee proposal.
Also on Thursday's agenda are consideration of a Faculty Senate bill modifying the definition of sabbatical leave, formal conferring of degrees on candidates for December graduation, and a resolution honoring Robert Foster, executive vice president, who is retiring Dec. 31.
