Four accidents in Cape Girardeau County injured six people over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Missouri Highway Patrol said.
Two people were injured in an accident at 4:46 p.m. Wednesday at the Highway 72/34 junction, two miles west of Jackson.
A southbound car driven by Bryan Huffman, 23, of Whitewater pulled into the path of a westbound truck driven by Thomas Cook, 38, of Fredericktown.
Huffman and a passenger in his vehicle, Dakota Huffman, age 2, of Whitewater were injured. Both were taken by private vehicle to Southeast Missouri Hospital. No further information was available as to their injuries.
Two Cape Girardeau motorists were injured in an accident at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 177 about eight miles north of Cape Girardeau.
The accident occurred when a southbound car driven by Wetzell Burkett, 39, crossed the center line and hit a northbound car head on, the patrol said. The driver of the second car was Joleen Warren, 19.
Both drivers were taken by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital. Warren was admitted and was reported in fair condition Friday. No further information was available as to Burkett's injuries.
A one-vehicle accident occurred at 10:28 p.m. Thursday on Route N, 10 miles south of Leopold.
Donna Allmon, 33, of Burfordville was injured when her northbound car ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. She was taken by air ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center. She was reported in fair condition Friday night at the hospital.
A fourth accident occurred at 2:40 a.m. Friday on Cape County Road 530 near Pocahontas.
An eastbound vehicle driven by David Woods, 40, of Millington, Tenn., failed to negotiate a curve, skidded off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Woods was injured and taken by private vehicle to St. Francis Medical Center. No further information was available as to Woods' injuries.
