Southeast Missouri State University faculty, on average, will receive pay hikes of 6.2 percent under a salary schedule approved by the Board of Regents Tuesday.
Those pay increases include merit pay and rank adjustments, Ken Dobbins, vice president for finance and administration at Southeast, said Wednesday.
University officials had indicated Tuesday that faculty stand to gain a pay hike of more than 5 percent for the 1994 fiscal year.
Dobbins said the 6.2 percent pay hike reflects an effort to bring the salaries of Southeast's faculty closer to the national median for comparable universities.
Part of the cost associated with pay raises for faculty members is coming from savings resulting from the elimination of some faculty positions, he said.
Clerical, technical and service employees will see a 4.2 percent pay hike, including merit pay. Professional and administrative staff, the university's middle-level managers, will realize a 4.4 percent salary increase, which includes merit pay.
The executive staff, which comprises the university's top administrators, will see pay hikes of 4 percent on average. But those pay raises will be based solely on merit.
