Gary W. Rust, president of Rust Communications and owner of a chain of newspapers, will speak at the Tri-State Advertising and Marketing Professionals meeting on May 18.
The luncheon meeting will begin at noon in the Missouriana Room at the University Center. The cost is $10 for members and $12 for non-members.

Rust will speak on the history of Rust Communications and its plans for continued expansion.
Rust Communications is a family-owned group of independently managed newspapers, including the Southeast Missourian. Holdings include 11 daily newspapers and 28 weekly publications. The company has newspapers in Southeast Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa, Idaho, Nebraska, northeast Arkansas and Indiana.
The Missouri newspapers provide the largest non-duplicated circulation in Missouri outside the greater St. Louis and Kansas City metropolitan areas.
Rust Communications is active in the direct mail and printing business through Concord Printing, and in the screen printing, embroidery and advertising specialty business with its affiliation to Horizon Screen Printing.
A former state representative, Rust currently serves on the Southeast Missouri University Foundation board and is a member of the Missouri Commission on Civil Rights.
