One Cape Girardeau City Council race and contests for Scott City council and school board are among contested races on the ballot Tuesday in municipal and school board elections in the area.
Cape Girardeau Ward 2 Councilwoman Shelly Moore is challenged by pastor Scott Johnson in the only contested race in the city.
Delta School Board candidates Mitchell White, Amy Swain and incumbent David Coomer are battling for two seats on the board.
In the Oak Ridge School District, board members Robert Grayhek and Jeff Hahs are running for re-election. They face a challenge from George Below. Voters will choose among the three candidates to fill two seats on the board.
Voters in Scott City will decide who will fill an unexpired term for mayor. The contest is between current Mayor Norman Brant and Ron Cummins, who resigned in August but now wants to finish the last two years of his four-year term. The council approved Brant, a longtime councilman, as mayor after Cummins resigned.
Ward 2 Councilman Rodney Uhrhan faces a challenge from Heather Ingvalson.
In Ward 3, former mayor Tim Porch and James Payne are battling for the open seat.
Scott City School Board member Justin Braun and challengers Scott Amick and Ronald Gray seek two available seats on the board.
Chaffee School Board members John Swinford and Jamie Wessel Nix, and challenger Steve Milz are seeking election to two seats on the board.
Four candidates � incumbent David Collier and Gail Riley, Amanda Ruff and Jim Umfress � are vying for two seats on the Kelly School Board.
Three candidates � Kevin Burchard and incumbents Dee Cookson and Clay Graviett � are competing for two seats on the Scott County Central School Board.
Incumbent Leonna Heuring and challengers Travis Dumey and Dustin Benson are running for two seats on the Kelso School Board.
In Oran, Missouri, Collector Marcia Roslen is challenged by Donna Dinges. Ward 2 Alderman Gil Roslen is opposed by Laura Sternberg. Ward 3 Alderman Richard Randolph is opposed by Karen Diebold.
In Morley, Missouri, three candidates are competing for two positions on the board of aldermen. They are Earl Woods Jr., Margaret �Peggy� Belcher and James C. �Charlie� Freed.
There are two contested races for alderman in Marble Hill, Missouri.
Voters will choose between Thomas E. �Tom� Garrett and Bobby Masters for the Ward 1 seat. Charles Fisher and �Trey� Thomas E. Wiginton III are competing for the Ward 2 seat.
Woodland School Board members Megan Baker and Kenny Rhodes, and challenger Chelsea McCormick-Baker are vying for two seats on the board.
In the Zalma School District, three candidates are running for a two-year term on the board. They are Caleb Schumer, Douglas Stilts and Cassie Garner.
