PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Missouri Department of Transportation representatives will be in Perryville on Monday to meet with people who live and work in the area and gather comments on a draft of the department's long-range plan for transportation.

The open house will be from 4-6 p.m. at the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission office at 1 W. St. Joseph St. downtown. Department representatives will be available to answer questions, but there will be no formal presentation.

The plan doesn't address specific projects but instead explains the process MoDOT will use to identify and prioritize projects in the future.

"This plan will ultimately serve Missouri residents, and we need their input in creating it," said Scott Meyer, MoDOT district engineer.

Written comments on the draft, which is posted on the Web at www.modot.state.mo.us, will be collected during the session.

After all public input is collected, the final plan will be presented to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission on Dec. 1.
