MARBLE HILL, Mo. — Police arrested a Marble Hill man late Monday after he allegedly kicked a woman and punched a man after the woman rejected his request for a sexual favor.

Salvador Villegas of Marble Hill was charged with first- and second-degree felony assault and felony possession of a controlled substance. He remains in custody without bond in the Bollinger County Jail after arraignment Wednesday before Judge Scott Thomsen.

According to a probable-cause statement filed in the case, Marble Hill police officer Richard Howard responded to a fight in progress at 11:31 p.m. Howard said he heard a woman yelling, “Please stop, please stop” when he arrived at the residence on Plutarch Street.

Once inside, the officer handcuffed Villegas after seeing him punch a man, Howard wrote.

The woman, Stephanie Warren, stated the incident began after she rejected the defendant’s request for a sexual favor and told him she was “with Ricky,” Howard reported in the statement.

At that point, Ricky Don Barnes confronted Villegas, who then punched him, Warren said.

The confrontation continued outside the home.

“Villegas went back inside and kicked the female in the face, causing severe swelling to the eye and also to her face and lips,” according to the statement.

Howard said Barnes told him he and Villegas both were on probation and had been drinking “a few beers.” Howard stated Villegas was intoxicated.

Villegas described himself as a “gangsta” and member of the “Mexican Mafia,” according to the statement.

Howard said a “clear bag with a white pill capsule fell out” of Villegas’ pocket as he was being patted down. The defendant reported it was a hydrocodone pill he was taking for a back injury. Howard said.
