A Southeast Missouri State University professor has been named acting dean of graduate studies for this summer at the school.
Frank Linn, professor of educational administration and counseling, will serve as acting dean in the absence of Sheila Caskey, dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Extended Learning. Caskey is taking a sabbatical this summer.
She will be studying the use of satellite television to provide higher education programs to people living in remote areas. She will also study other alternative education systems.
As to the naming of an acting dean, Caskey said: "Dr. Linn is a longtime member of the graduate faculty. He is very student oriented, and I am glad he is taking the job for the summer."
Linn said, "I am looking forward to it. I think it will be a challenge. I always have enjoyed the administration end of school business."
