INTERNATIONAL ZONTA PRESIDENT VISITS CAPE

Folake Solanke of Nigeria, the president-elect for Zonta International, will visit the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau June 23.

A luncheon is scheduled to honor Solanke, who provides leadership for Zonta's more than 36,000 members in over 1,000 clubs worldwide. Solanke will also tour the Cape Girardeau area to view firsthand the businesses of club members.

Solanke is proprietor, manager and principal partner at the Alabukun Law Chambers in Nigeria. She has also been appointed as an honorary chief in Nigeria.

Solanke has held numerous offices at the international, district and club levels of Zonta, including vice president of Zonta International, member of the foundation board of directors, district director and club president.

Solanke will be visiting Cape Girardeau as part of a trip to St. Louis to lay the groundwork for the Zonta International Convention. The convention will be held in St. Louis in 1996.

The Cape Girardeau Zonta chapter has 91 members. In the 1992-93 year, they contributed over 2,400 service hours to the community. With the support of the local community, they donated more than $10,000 to 32 service projects.

Zonta is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working to advance the status of women.
