FRUITLAND -- A construction crew plans to remove the old Interstate 55 northbound bridge at Fruitland during evening hours this week.
The removal was scheduled to start Monday night and be completed within three days, Missouri Department of Transportation officials said.
The removal work is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day. The bridge is being replaced as part of improvements under construction at I-55 and U.S. 61.
Motorists should expect traffic delays of up to 15 minutes on U.S. 61 while the bridge is being removed, highway officials said.
