The Cape Girardeau County Park Board began its annual Holiday of Lights display at Cape Girardeau County North Park on Wednesday with a lighting ceremony.
This year marks the 13th annual holiday display. The tradition started with 11 displays. Participation has increased yearly to over 200 displays featured this year, all sponsored by church groups, individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
Holiday of Lights is open for viewing from dusk until 11:30 p.m. nightly through New Year's Eve. Admission is free.
