Rosemary Crisp, chairperson of the President's Council a component of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation received the Anna M. Fillmore Award June 9 at the 20th biennial convention of the National League for Nursing in Nashville, Tenn.

The award is presented for outstanding contributions in developing and administering community health services. The presentation was made at the convention's opening ceremonies, which showcased the achievements of nurses and non-nurses for their exceptional contributions to nursing education, service, research and administration.

In addition to her role on the President's Council, Crisp heads up the community advisory board to Southeast Missouri State University's department of nursing home health programs.

"We are very pleased that she received the honor," said Helen Miner, acting chairperson of Southeast's nursing department. "It continues to reflect her involvement in many aspects of nursing and is related to her activity on the national level."

Southeast's nursing courses are held in the Rosemary Berkel Crisp Hall of Nursing. She and her husband, Harry Crisp II, of Marion, Ill., gave a major gift to the university in 1988 to create nursing offices and laboratories in the building.

In addition, Rosemary Crisp is an honorary inductee to the university's Nursing Honor Society and is a past chairperson of the Copper Dome Society.
