The Southeast Missouri State University Concert Band will perform its first concert of the spring semester Wednesday on the Southeast campus.
The concert, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Academic Auditorium, also will feature an appearance by the Advance High School Concert Band under the direction of Bob Moses.
The Advance band will perform "Eagle Fantasia" by John Paff and "Cannonade Concert March" by Joseph Wilcox Jenkins.
The university band will perform "Variations on A Mighty Fortress is Our God" by Darren Jenkins, "Overture for Winds" by Charles Carter, and "Salvation is Created" by Tschesnokoff and Houseknecht. In addition, the band will perform "With Flags Unfurled" by Thomas F. Darcy. Robert Gifford, professor of music and secondary education at Southeast, will be the guest conductor.
The concert is open to the public. There is a small admission fee. All university students can be admitted by showing their student ID cards.
