Cape Girardeau's new federal courthouse will have two exercise rooms, one for court staff including judges and another for the U.S. Marshals Service.
Officials justify the exercise space as a way for court staff and security personnel to keep physically fit. They say such exercise rooms are standard in today's federal courthouses.
The one for court staff will be located in a windowless room in the basement of the courthouse. The marshal service will have its own exercise and training room on the second floor of the building.
