Make pols focus on future

To the editor:

I have a serious issue with the U.S. government wanting to cut Social Security. Why not cut the president's salary and his retirement pay? How about cutting the pay of representatives and senators? What about the $400 million for the Mars rovers? They may send back all kinds of good information, but in reality that $400 million is gone.

Where is all this money coming from? Look in a mirror and you will see who is paying for all of this. I think all of the politicians need to learn how to live within a budget like the rest of the Americans who are having to pick up the bill for this. I really wish I could vote myself a $3,500-a-year raise whenever I think I need it. Is there anyone else out here who could use a $3,500-a-year raise? Think about this when it is time to vote this year.

I feel as though there are much larger issues in a political race than whether someone served their country back when or whether they went here or did that. Who cares? It is done and past. You can't change it. So deal with the present and make it better for the future. It is your money and your voice. Be sure to speak free and loud.
