Letter to the Editor

In the end, God's judgment is what counts

To the editor:

I would like to reply to a recent article, "High court strikes down gay sex ban." One cannot help but wonder what goes through the minds of those Supreme Court justices who say homosexuals are protected by the U.S. Constitution. I believe such an idea would have been farthest removed from the minds of the Founding Fathers.

"Sodomy" refers to the account in the Scriptures of the wicked city of Sodom where unnatural sex acts occurred to the extent that God found it necessary to utterly destroy the city. Do we want that kind of divine judgment to come upon our beloved United States?

Call it freedom. Call it anything you want. We cannot escape God's judgment. At the same time, God's grace is there for all who repent. "If my people will turn from their evil ways, then will I be gracious to them and bless them."

I hope and pray that Americans will turn to God in repentance, turn from sinful ways to God's ways and, by his grace, continue to enjoy his blessing as a nation.
