THE PUBLIC MIND: LIFE OF THE UNBORN REMAINS A CONCERN

To the Editor:

This is in reply to Davida H. M. Douglas~ letter to The Public Mind of October 9, 1991, concerning the Pro-Life statements. Just to put the records straight I was one of seven children from my parents. My husband was one of fifteen children. Together we are parents of twelve children and they are parents of our thirty grandchildren. Let me assure you that none of this family was "planned" by any earthly organization. Now, after over fifty years together as man and wife, we thank God each day for the blessings of "Family~~."

We do understand why you are so bitter about your own birth. As you say, ~~I am a result of a failed birth control~~ and you conceived a child from the same mistake and chose to destroy it. It must be terrible not to be wanted. No wonder the guilt trip. I assure you that you will carry this guilt to your grave. The next time you get an abortion, why don~'t you ask your attending butcher to show you the results? He might show you the real person or maybe some of the latex models you speak of in your article.

The law says that Congress cannot establish or support one particular religion. If Congress did not defend religion we would not have laws. Don't depend on this Congress for stability. Take a good look as to what has happened to a confused Congress the past few weeks. They cry for freedom of speech - but will not let a child in school say that "God is good".

Our solution is this and this is what we do. If you are not happy with the way Congress runs our government, vote to change the congressman. If you are not happy the way God controls our life, then pray and ask Him to change it. The protesters do not claim they have the right to judge or condemn. Their only concern is for the "Right to Life" for the unborn. Then too, How do we know that God didn't ask them to be there?

If you really think that the Pro-Life people are lying, come to our meetings so that we can prove to you that our only interest is to save the ~"Life of the Unborn~~" and to do what we can to help the mother.
