Notre Dame broke ground on its new high school last Sunday. It was a momentous occasion, capping an impressive $5 million fund drive.

The new high school will be built on a hill overlooking Route K, about two miles past the western edge of the city. Work will begin immediately, with a targeted completion date in September 1998.

Although construction on the building has begun, the fund drive continues. About $700,000 must still be raised to cover the cost of furnishing and equipping the school.

Notre Dame should be proud of its successful campaign and plans for the new high school. The 48-acre site provides plenty of room for tomorrow as well as the next century.
