SEMO welcomes new dean to College of Business

Southeast Missouri State University recently announced the new dean of the Harrison College of Business.

Alberto Davila of Edinburgh, Texas, will lead the business education department at the university, starting June 1.

According to a story by Marybeth Niederkorn, Davila will focus on establishing strong partnerships with local and regional organizations and building relationships between the College of Business and STEM fields.

In Texas, Davila oversees graduate studies, research and administration and has been involved in student-exchange programs in Spain and Germany, according to information provided by the university. He is a professor of economics and lead associate dean for administration, graduate studies and research with the Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, according to information provided by Southeast.

Davila appears to have the type of experience necessary to carry on the torch for an already-successful business program at Southeast Missouri State. We wish him well in his new role, and welcome him to Cape Girardeau.
