Windeknecht - 60 Years

Mr. and Mrs. Nelson R. Windeknecht of Waterloo, Ill., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in November 2013.

Windeknecht and Barbara Riggs were married Nov. 28, 1953, at First Baptist Church in Fornfelt (Scott City), by the Rev. Lester Bain. Nelson was raised in Fruitland and Barbara was raised in Scott City.

He retired in 1996 from Big River Zinc Co., and she retired in 1994 from Waterloo Community Unit School District 5.

They have two children, Lisa Ann Braswell of Waterloo, and the late Nelson Keith Windeknecht. They have two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
