Wessell - 40 years

Mr. and Mrs. Doug Wessell of Jackson celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a dinner and party Sept. 17, 2011, at the home of a daughter in Jackson.

Guests attended from St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, Jackson, and Perryville, Mo., and Kentucky.

Wessell and Susan Eckelmann were married Sept. 25, 1971, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau, by the Rev. Ernest Jordan.

Their attendants were Jane Martin, Mary Kay Lohmeier, Donna Ruebel, Wayne Daume, Steve Nebel, Mike Bowers, Gary Hodge and Rick Yamnitz.

The couple has three daughters, Shelly Kaiser of Jackson, Emily Watson of St. Louis, and Katie Scheper of Cape Girardeau. They have two granddaughters, Alexis Bogenpohl of St. Louis and Madilyn Kaiser of Jackson.
