Welker - 50 years

Richard and Virginia Welker of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception Dec. 14, 2013, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church.

The couple was married Dec. 15, 1963, at the church by the late Verdell Jackson.

The Welkers have a daughter, Michelle Caneles; two grandsons, Marcus and Da-on Bolden; and a special friend, Jeff Hilton, all of Wheeling, W.Va.

Richard had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co., and for the past 33 years has been at RM Coco. Virginia was employed 30 years with Rubbermaid, retiring eight years ago. She works part time with Jackson School District.

A trip is planned this summer.
