Torbets married 60 years

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Kenneth and Mary Torbet of Marble Hill celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 13, 2002, at Reflections Fine Dining in Jackson. Hosts were their children and grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Torbet were married Oct. 13, 1942, at Grant City, Mo. Their attendants were Don and Gladys Torbet, brother and sister-in-law of the groom.

Their children and spouses are: Sharon and Ron Stroder of Jackson, Steve and Brenda Torbet of Sikeston, Mo., Mike and Carolyn Torbet of Cape Girardeau, and Chris and Sandy Torbet of Oak Ridge.

The couple has nine grandchildren: Ron Stroder and David Torbet of Cape Girardeau, Lisa King of Jackson, Angie Fields of Ferguson, Mo., Matt Torbet of Sikeston, Tracy Meyr of St. Louis, Chauntel Warner and Bradley Warner of Oak Ridge, and Lindsey Myers of Marble Hill. They have six great-grandchildren, Erica Fields of Sikeston; Erin, Jacob and Kyle Colyott, and Courtney and Kristen King, all of Jackson.
