Summers and Dorothy Brockmeyer were married May 16, 1959, at St. Mary's Cathedral, by Monsignor Marion F. Forst.

Their attendants were Theresa Brockmeyer Schreckenberg, Nadine Summers Marchetto, Frances Brockmeyer Willenbring, Don Summers, Clarence "Butch" Job, and Charles Eeftink.
The couple has two children, Brian (Joy) Summers of High Ridge, Mo., and Martha (Keith) Sander of Jackson.
They have two grandchildren, Dakota and Cheyenne Sander of Jackson.
