Mr. and Mrs. John T. Stephens of Oklahoma City, Okla., formerly of Cape Girardeau, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner at the Melting Pot.

Stephens and Brenda Browning were married Jan. 2, 1960, at First Assembly of God Church in Cape Girardeau.

While living in Cape Girardeau John worked at Riverside Home Centers. He also worked at Essen Hardware in St. Louis and Builders Emporium in Las Vegas, Nev., prior to moving to Oklahoma in 1995. He is currently retail development manager with Gordon White Lumber Co. stores, and is president of Oklahoma Lumbermen's Association for 2010.

The couple enjoyed a cruise to the Cayman Islands; Cozumel, Mexico; and Jamaica.
