Route W in Cape County Reduced for culvert replacement, guardrail and pavement improvements

Route W in Cape Girardeau County — between Highway 177 and U.S. 61 near Cape Girardeau — will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews perform guardrail improvements and an asphalt overlay and replace a culvert under the roadway. According to a Missouri Department of Transportation news release, the work will take place daily from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Tuesday, Aug. 20, through Tuesday, Oct. 1. The lane restriction will only be in place during working hours. The week of Sept. 2, the roundabout near U.S. 61 will be closed for night work, the release said. Guardrail work will begin at Highway 177 and head south, with the asphalt overlay to follow.
