KELSO, Mo. -- Troy and Tonita Wilburn of Kelso celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception June 27 at the VFW Hall in Cape Girardeau.

More than 160 guests attended the event, hosted by their children.

The couple was married June 29, 1954, in Mounds, Ill. She is the daughter of Juanita Moore of Kelso.

The Wilburns have three children, Jay Wilburn and wife Mary, Walt Wilburn, all of Cape Girardeau, and Bonnie Miller of St. Louis. They have seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Wilburn is a retired chief master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force and a veteran of the Vietnam War.

The couple lived in Mounds and Dongola, Ill., before moving to Kelso.
