Prost and the former Stella Dietrich were married May 19, 1956, at Church of the Assumption in Perryville, Missouri. The Rev. Charles Rice performed the ceremony.
The couple has three children, Rick (Becky) Prost of Cape Girardeau; Robert (Diane) Prost of Chesterfield, Missouri; and the late James Prost. They also have five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeff, Brian, David and Luke, and one great-granddaughter, Lily.
