Mr. and Mrs. John Popp of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception May 27, 2007, at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Jackson. Their family hosted the event.
Following the reception, a dinner honoring family members was held in the fellowship hall. Pianist was Tim Smith.
Popp and Barbara Daniels were married May 18, 1957, at First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, by the Rev. L.W. Cleland. Their parents are the late John and Irene Popp and W.H. "Bill" and Kathryn Daniels.
The couple has three children, Steven (Terri) Popp of Jackson, Chief Master Sgt. David (Linda) Popp of Yorktown, Va., and Betsy (Norman) Schultz of Charlotte, N.C. They have nine grandchildren, Jamie, Blake, Norman, Earl, David Jr., Matt, Amelia, Elliott and Ian; and four great-grandchildren, London, Sydney, Evan and Owen.
