Pope - 65 years

Kenneth and Viva Jean Pope of Oran, Missouri, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a weekend trip to Paducah, Kentucky, attending the Badgett Playhouse in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.

Pope and the former Viva Jean Eakin were married Aug. 28, 1953, at The General Baptist Church near Bell City, Missouri. He is retired from Ameren, and she is retired from Thorngate.

The Popes have two children. Kimberly Fitts and her husband, Allen, live in Dexter, Missouri, and Marty and his wife, Carla, live in Cape Girardeau. They have five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jordan, Daniel, Abigail and Adam.
