Mr. and Mrs. James A. Palmer of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and dance Sept. 21, 2002, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson.

Guests attended from Jackson, Cape Girardeau, Farmington, Rolla, Sikeston, Ballwin, Manchester, Florissant, St. Louis, Imperial, and Lohman, Mo.; Metamora and Riverton, Ill.; Orlando, Fla.; Glendale and Camarillo, Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. Palmer were married Sept. 22, 1952, at Emmanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church by the Rev. M.A. Torbitzky. Their attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Niswonger.

Palmer is retired from Arkansas Best Freight System. Mrs. Palmer is a retired bus driver with Jackson R-2 School District.

Their children and spouses are: James and Barb Palmer of Rolla, Mo., Jeanna and Jeff Kirn of New Hamburg, Mo., and Susan and Richard Koerber of Jackson.

They have seven grandchildren: Jeremy Koerber, Sarah Koerber, April Palmer, Andrew Palmer, Julie McCulley, Hunter Kirn and Shiloh Kirn.
