The Delta Queen and Mississippi Queen steamboats are scheduled to make four port calls at Cape Girardeau this year, one fewer than the boats made here last year; the Mississippi Queen will stop here July 23, while the Delta Queen will be here July 5, Aug. 1 and Aug. 20.
Roger J. Howell of Cape Girardeau has filed for the Republican nomination for County Court judge from District 2; he is the 21st candidate to file for office and at present would oppose Walter H. Ford, Democrat, in the November general election.

Harry S. Truman and Walter Myers, fourth assistant postmaster general, all of whom have been active in the negotiations concerning the $430,000 building project.
Following the example of Cape Girardeau County, Scott County is preparing to file for an injunction to keep drainage contractors from digging ditches across the Rock Levee Road near Ancell and the public road between Oran and Perkins, Missouri.
R.M. Daugherty, prosecuting attorney of Scott County, resigned that post this week, and Gov. E.W. Major appointed John McWilliams to fill out the unexpired term.
