A presidential search committee at Southeast Missouri State University is expected to present a list of finalists to the school's board of regents Tuesday; also at that meeting, the board will consider a proposal that the university enter into a cooperative agreement with the Missouri Division of Youth Services to construct a group home for youths.
ZALMA, Mo. -- Bollinger and Cape Girardeau county authorities are investigating weekend break-ins at the Zalma High School and Delta High School; the break-in at Delta was a case of burglary and stealing, while at Zalma, vandals pried open two soda machines, stole some change and ransacked a school office.
The Missouri Commission on Higher Education, at the invitation of President Mark F. Scully of State College, will hold its February meeting on the college campus Feb. 21 and 22; in addition, Scully invited the commission to attend the annual Eagle Scout Court of Honor conducted by the Southeast Missouri Boy Scout Council; Gov. Warren E. Hearnes will be the class sponsor.

Dynamite, used generously, was employed yesterday to break up the ice that had surrounded barges and boats moored here, as well as the equipment being used on the Frisco riverfront improvement project.
