Korns, horticulturist at Southeast Missouri State University, says this year's fall colors won't be a complete wash, with trees like maples, hickories and hackberries beginning to show color in mid-October.

75 years ago: Sept. 28, 1929

Special Sparks circus train will arrive here tomorrow, and equipment will be set up during latter part of day on lot at intersection of West Broadway and Perry Avenue, in preparation for Monday's performances.
