About two-thirds of money needed to send Golden Troopers to Miami, Fla., as Cape Girardeau's and Missouri's representative in national American Legion drum and bugle corps contests is in hand; it is suggested that contributions be sent to Walter H. Oberheide, corps business manager, or any member of corps, or be sent to The Missourian as soon as possible so train and hotel reservations may be made definite and final plans laid.
Grand opening of Hutson Bros. Western Auto Associate Store in same location as previous supply store on Main Street, but in remodeled quarters and with new stock, will be held tomorrow; store will be owned by Glenn J. Hutson, who also owns adjacent Hutson Furniture Co. store, and his brother, Lynn Hutson, until recently employed by Kelso Oil Co.

With weather man indicating that at last cool weather is here to stay, Fire Chief George French urges Cape Girardeans to take precautionary measures to prevent fires; French urges residents to have their flues cleaned before starting fires for winter, and to remove all rubbish from attics and basements.
New Madrid - Holding that 1921 election recount law is unconstitutional, Judge Oscar A. Knehans of Cape Girardeau, sitting as special judge in election contest suit here, rules that Amos L. Phillips is winner over Sol S. Thompson of Portageville for Democratic nomination for presiding judge of county court; decision is in line with that of state supreme court only few days ago.
