Conway, Ark. -- Mike Wood yesterday kicked 51st field goal of his collegiate career, tying NCAA record of Air Force's Dave Lawson, as Southeast Missouri State University scored 17-6 victory over University of Central Arkansas; Wood's 32-yard field goal came as horn sounded to end first half, giving Indians 10-0 half-time lead over UCA.
Piggies can now got to college to determine which boars will be superior fathers for estimated annual 700,000 pigs born in this region; Swine Evaluation Station at Southeast Missouri State University Farm is dedicated; it was built with $40,000 in private donations made to Southeast Missouri Swine Improvement Association.

Warm afternoon sun and promise of another refreshingly cool, clear evening spins out week's largest crowd at Cape Girardeau Day at District Fair; and with identical conditions expected tomorrow, Jackson Day and Cape County Day promise to be equally successful.
Grand juries have been ordered to convene next week in Cape Girardeau Scott and Mississippi counties, says Circuit Judge D.W. Gilmore; Gilmore says each jury will be issued usual instructions called for by law, such as investigation of certain types of crime and inspection of county properties; last grand jury in Cape Girardeau County convened in April 1950; in its final report in September, jury recommended that County Farm be discontinued.

Dr. B.A. Abbott of St. Louis, editor of The Christian Evangelist, one of leading religious journals of America, speaks at First Christian Church in morning; Abbott was one of delegates to World Conference on Faith and Order held in Lausanne, Switzerland, and recently returned to this country.
Trapped when their automobile stalls on Frisco railway tracks at foot of Broadway, two tourists have narrow escape, when they leap to safety only moments before southbound Sunnyland demolishes their car; L.M. Collins of South Charleston, Ohio, and his sister, Alma, who resides in St. Louis, are uninjured.
