There aren't many university dormitories that have a swimming pool and rooms equipped with 19-inch color televisions, wall-to-wall carpet and private telephones; but those are the accommodations Southeast Missouri State University has provided this semester for 62 male freshmen at the Best Western Motel.
Circuit court judges Stanley A. Grimm, A.J. Seier and Marybelle Mueller, and the county court plan to file two separate briefs with the Missouri Supreme Court by Saturday outlining their objections to a petition before the court seeking to block the move of circuit court offices from Jackson to Cape Girardeau.

Henry L. Clay, 69, a farmer of near Oran, Mo., died last night at St. Francis Hospital from peritonitis, resulting from an injury suffered Aug. 17, when he was struck by a baseball bat while watching a game at Oran; Clay was a spectator and had been watching the game but a few minutes when a player lost control of his bat as he swung at the ball, the bat striking Clay in the abdomen.
CHAFFEE, Mo. -- An ordinance prohibiting the operation of the miniature golf courses here on Sunday was passed by the city council recently; a committee of Chaffee ministers has since thanked the council for the action.
