Mattie Adams Orphans' Home has come to an end; the children there were scattered to the four winds this week, although they found good homes; the break-up of the orphanage came as a result of the sudden illness of Mrs. Mattie Adams, matron and founder of the home.
Around 5,000 visitors descend on Jackson in the morning for the annual Homecomers celebration; among the visitors are Oscar Leimer of Los Angeles, J.C. Craig of Gibson Wells of Arkansas and Ida Hawn of Ukeak, Calif.
