If all goes according to schedule, Scott City will increase its size by nearly two square miles later this week; that's when Scott County Circuit Judge Tony Heckemeyer is expected to sign a paper certifying the results of Tuesday's election, which passed overwhelmingly; new area of Scott City will extend from the northern edge of the old city limits to the east side of Interstate 55 and the south side of Nash Road.
