75 years ago: June 25, 1929

Two brothers were injured yesterday afternoon when scaffold on which they were working at new milk condensery of Mid-Continent Dairy Products Co. on Gordonville Road collapsed; Hugo Pfisterer Jr. suffered bruises about face, legs and arms when he fell 14 feet through scaffold, striking pile of lumber.

About 200 people, including state senators and representatives and others in public life, prominent lawyers and personal friends of Sen. Russell L. Dearmont, arrive in Cape Girardeau to attend this evening's testimonial dinner at Hotel Idan-Ha; dinner marks Dearmont's leadership at recent session of state legislature.
