Mr. and Mrs. Henry Margraf and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lindsay have purchased the Boone Drug Store in the Idan-Ha building; they bought the store stock and fixtures from the estate of Trueman Boone.

Cape Girardeau Central High School, unbeaten in 19 baseball games this season, will take on St. Louis Normandy tomorrow afternoon in the Missouri State Tournament at Busch Stadium in St. Louis; the Tigers last played in the state finals in 1959.

75 years ago: May 31, 1937

M.J. Wragg, president of the Asphalt Products Corp., which has a plant in South Cape, and who is also a paving contractor, is trying to interest property owners on Broadway from Main to Middle streets in having the street resurfaced; as Broadway is the one heavy traffic street of the city and as the concrete slab was down before the use of heavy trucks, it is rapidly cracking and getting rough.

Appointment of Clay Hunter of New Madrid, Mo., as liquor supervisor for Missouri, to succeed E.J. Becker, who died last week, is being urged upon Gov. Lloyd C. Stark by a number of leading Democrats in Southeast Missouri.

100 years ago: May 31, 1912

Vincent Dunker has sold his photography studio on Broadway to George A. Kassel, the Main Street photographer; Dunker will retire from the business, expecting to engage in something not so confining.

The moving pictures of the Titanic disaster, shown at the Hippodrome last night, were enjoyed by a large crowd.
