The owners of Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel say they will seek City Council approval for construction of a new facility despite an unfavorable ruling from the Planning and Zoning Commission.
An airport planner, speaking to about 20 members of a planning committee of the airport board, says the city should take immediate steps to increase passenger boardings to avoid losing $300,000 in annual federal funding for the facility; he suggests the city undertake a marketing program and, if necessary, even subsidize Trans World Express, the lone commuter airline serving Cape Girardeau, in an effort to boost boardings.

Clyde Wright, whose six-year fight to live won the admiration of the entire community, is dead; he dies in the morning in a hospital at Tempe, Arizona, where he went three years ago with his family in a last desperate effort to throw off the effects of a crippling spinal infection that left him almost helpless, but never dimmed his spirit; Wright was 39 and is survived by his widow, the former Helen Hohler; two sons and two daughters, his father, three sisters and a brother.
R.B. Andrews sells his grocery store at 721 S. Fountain St., to Charles Dietiker; Andrews had been in business continuously for 33 years, all at the present location.
