MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- The Bollinger County towns of Marble Hill and Lutesville, Mo., are now one as a result of voters approving consolidation yesterday.

As in previous years, the Cape Choraliers sing a program of sacred music in a pre-Easter concert in the afternoon at First Baptist Church.

Joan Schneider, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schneider of Cape Girardeau, was crowned the 1960 Sagamore Queen at the annual Sagamore Ball last night at the Arena Building.

75 years ago: April 3, 1935

Cape Girardeau voters at yesterday's election chose John Kraft, manager of the Southeast Missouri Machine Co., and E.L. McClintock, an attorney to fill two seats on the school board.

Elam Vangilder, the former major league baseball pitcher, has a new job; Tuesday he was elected a member of the school board at the Brick School on the Perryville Road; he lives on a farm near the school.

100 years ago: April 3, 1910

A revival meeting begins at the First Christian Church under the direction of Evangelist W.E. Harow of Springfield, Mo., assisted by Marvin O. Sansbury of Neosha, Mo., who conducts the music; the latter has been in Cape Girardeau several days training the large choir which performs at the meeting.

Manager W.B. Devine of the Roberts, Johnson & Rand shoe factory team takes his bunch to Illmo for the first baseball game of the season; although Devine's boys play well, they are beaten by the Illmo team.
