The wardens and vestry of Christ Episcopal Church have announced the Rev. Charles F. Brumbaugh of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been selected as rector.

The Rev. Billy Richardson, pastor of Olive Crest United Methodist Church in Omaha, Neb., and the Rev. Jimmie Dace, local Wesley Foundation campus ministry, lead a worship service at Old McKendree Chapel at Jackson; following the service, Richardson begins a walking journey to St. Louis, the site of the United Methodist General Conference; he will preach along the way, following in the footsteps of early circuit riders.

L.E. McCormick, an extension specialist in forestry at the University of Missouri-Columbia, has agreed to inspect the trees at Capaha Park; McCormick, along with City Park Commissioner J.W. McBride and local nurseryman James C. Logan, will survey the trees in the park, tagging those that should be removed or treated in some manner.

ILLMO, Mo. -- The 15th anniversary of the Baptist Church at Illmo is celebrated with an all-day program; visiting ministers from many sections are on hand for the services; principal speaker for the day is the Rev. E.C. Abernathy, pastor of the Baptist Church at Flat River, Mo.

Dr. Forrest H. Rose of the Cape Girardeau Teachers College has been elected national president of Pi Kappa Delta, collegiate forensic fraternity.

1913

Two new streetcars for the local lines arrived in Cape Girardeau last night; it is expected the two cars will be unloaded tomorrow in the Frisco yards, but on the Cape Girardeau Northern tracks so they may easily be placed on the South Frederick line and taken to the sheds in the north end of the city for the installation of the fixtures and other equipment.

A contract was closed last week between the Idan-ha Hotel and the telephone company covering a private branch telephone exchange, with connection in every guest room; 61 telephones are required.
