DEXTER, Mo. -- International Hat Co., with plants here and at Marble Hill, Mo., is under new management; the two facilities are being acquired by Paramount Cap Co., a 60-year-old firm headquarter at Bourbon, Mo.; both of the plants -- employing a total of more than 400 people -- were scheduled to shut down.
NEW HAMBURG, Mo. -- Four Kelso Consolidated School District students receive minor injuries when the school bus in which they are riding is struck by a pickup truck west of here; all are treated at a Cape Girardeau hospital and released; the driver of the pickup is in serious condition at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Fahy has received instructions to resume the use of the county jail at Jackson as a place to house federal prisoners, at least for the present; like all others in the district, the Jackson jail was recently taken off the government's approved list for housing federal prisoners.
The Lions Club makes a smash hit with its Pancake Day; held to raise money for its milk fund for needy school children, the event proves a grand success, serving 225 persons at breakfast; at noon, patrons fairly swamp the ground floor of the H.-H. Building, where the pancakes, syrup, butter and coffee are served.
