Final arrangements were completed yesterday for the acquisition of the 125-year-old Reynolds House, 623 N. Main St. in Cape Girardeau, by the Historical Association of Greater Cape Girardeau; the house will be renovated in much the same fashion as the Glenn House has been.

Beginning a reconstruction program on 20 miles of track along the main line between East St. Louis and Gorham, Ill., the Missouri Pacific Railroad has called back 300 workers, including an extra gang of about 30 men from Cape Girardeau.
COMMERCE, Mo. -- Fire, believed to have originated from a defective flue in the Ireland store building at 9 last night, destroyed that structure, the Frazier building adjacent and threatened a third.

Quick action by night watchman Jack Adkins saves Cape Girardeau from a disastrous conflagration shortly after midnight; while making his rounds, he discovers a fire in the rear of the O.K. barber shop; he quickly notifies the night clerk at the St. Charles Hotel, who in turn arouses the guests and leads them to safety; the night porter of the hotel extinguishes the small blaze before it has a chance to spread to the hotel.
Paul Fiehler, the expert blacksmith who came to Cape Girardeau some time ago from New Wells, has decided to embark in the business at Gordonville.
